Abstract-ish to please

I tell my daughters that when they are doing their art that they need to please themselves —making art that they like — not trying to please the others.
Isn’t that great advice? If only I would listen to my own bs.
So I like this art here. I’m surprised I do — it’s not how I usually do it. I’m learning there is an art to stopping in what feels like the middle. But I really just stopped when I was pleased.
A friend I love tells me she prefers my less fussy, overdone work.
It used to feel so undone or abandoned.
In this case I’m seeing how my goal of abstract is getting closer.
This is a love seat with cocktails— Or mocktails 😍
All this to say do your art. It’s helping me cope with some tough stuff. I’m grateful.
